What I’ve learned in 2012
Television is horrible no matter where you are in the world or how many channels you get…there is never anything on.
Cooking is therapeutic.
Fresh flowers on the table creates an instant smile each time we pass by.
Being a hausfrau is glorious.
J actually enjoyed bubbly (insert yay!)
Home becomes home wherever you are. It’s about how you create it and how you share it.
Hiking is tranquil.
Working easily consumes me. Too much, too easily.
J loves me more this year than last.
I enjoy bird watching. Yup, I said it, insert old lady remarks now.
Fresh herbs make a meal.
Whole Foods is expensive.
I love sunsets.
I love taking photos.
I love the sound of a bottle of bubbly popping open, especially when there is no special occasion.
I enjoy snow.
We made great friends in Berlin and will always treasure out time together. We miss you all but know we will remain in touch and see you again soon.
We missed our friends here in The States, many of whom we still have yet to connect with. We look forward to reconnecting in 2013.
S is no longer a boy. He is a handsome, intelligent young man. I am very proud to be in his life.
In saying that…I still don’t regret not having children of our own.
In saying that…we are considering adopting a 2nd doxie, a sister for Neppie.
In our 7th year together (5 married), J is still my BEST friend and the one who I enjoy spending time with most. He is my biggest blessing and who makes my life whole. My heart smiles just typing this :) I continue to love and adore him more each day.
I guess for me it always goes back to simplicity and being thankful. Appreciate the simple things, enjoy and appreciate nature and those around you and always be thankful. Count your blessings…we have more than we realize.
Cheers to you and all that you are. Cheers to 2013 and making it the best. Don’t forget to enjoy it! ;)
xx aly
